Implementation Strategy and Palliative Care

Update from the WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network

Overview

Join us for an opportunity to hear the latest news and updates from the WA Cancer and Palliative care Network.

The WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network (WACPCN) is a group of individuals and organisations committed to improving the patient experience for people with cancer or who are accessing palliative care services in Western Australia.

This group leads and influences equitable access to cancer control and end of life care in Western Australia through a system of supporting, guiding and delivering high-quality cancer prevention, screening, early detection, cancer treatment and palliative care policy including the Implementation Plan One (IP1) strategy and initiatives.

The Implementation Plan One 2020-2022 (IP1) strategy provides the WA health system, spanning the public, private, community and non-government sectors, with a structure from which to plan, deliver and evaluate innovative care aligned to the WA End-of-Life and Palliative Care Strategy 2018-2028.

This opportunity will be a valuable insight into what the WACPCN have in store for palliative care in Western Australia.

Palliative care education for health professionals, health care workers and palliative care volunteers across WA.

Our events are aimed at increasing knowledge and understanding of palliative care for health professionals caring for any person with a life-limiting illness in all settings.

The education programs are facilitated by project officers in collaboration with expert palliative care clinical providers and health professionals. Tailored education to meet specific requirements is available as we continue to improve and develop our programs to meet the growing demand for palliative and supportive care education.

PaSCE is supported by Cancer Council of WA and the WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network, WA Department of Health.
